"My mom asked what "bitcoins" were this morning. After telling her I had her download a wallet & wanted to show her. I sent her $1 in BCH and then tried to send $1 in BTC so she could watch it change in value. I couldn't send her BTC due to fees lol. Oh well."

My mom is being scammed. Someone is overnighting her a money order and asking her to send it to someone else in bitcoin. What should she do when she receives the money order?

[OH] Long story short, my mom has been talking to a scammer for a while now. She recently went through a divorce and someone found her online and started preying on her. Through this conversing she sent some intimate photos to this scammer. Eventually she agreed to have the scammer send her a prepaid money order and then transfer the money as bitcoin to someone else.
After I found out about this today I absolutely blew up on her and explained how dangerous this is not only because shes basically aiding in some sort of crime, but now the scammer has her address.
The scammer also sent her a picture of the receipt they used to pay for the money order which has the debit card, location the money order was purchased, and he tracking number for the overnight shipment.
The money order has been shipped already, so there is no stopping that. What should she do with the money order when it arrives? If she does not send this money (and goes to the police), the person will more than likely get mad and send these photos to friends and family (which they have already done). If she does send the money, she is more than likely doing something very illegal. If she cashes the money order and doesn't send the bitcoin, they will also probably retaliate.
Another question would be that if my mom cashes the money order, keeps the money, and is willing to accept the risk of the photos being release, is she doing something illegal?
Any help would be appreciated, as the money order for $900 is arriving at her house tomorrow.

ESPN College Gameday Sign

I'm planning on being at ESPN's college gameday show) in Auburn, AL this Saturday. I want to see if I can get a creative bitcoin related sign past security (they might have an issue with a QR code if I go that route). Any ideas?
I thought this one was ok: " HI MOM, SEND BITCOINS!"
Edit: My attempt at a GameDay Sign Edit2: Another sign
Edit3: Last one

Question about publicly available addresses/address reuse for donations

Newbie question, but I’m confused about the security of posting QR code addresses in public/online. I want to add a QR code to a website to accept public bitcoin donations for fundraising, but I’ve read that it’s dangerous to post addresses publicly because people can track where the money goes and see how much money sits in the address.
I’m confused by this. There was of course the “Hi Mom Send Bitcoin” guy from a few years ago, and I remember reading a thread a while back about a guy who put a bitcoin address on his business card and was handing them out. Since anyone can visit those addresses and see where the bitcoins have been sent to from them, aren't these sorts of practices inherently unsafe? I see websites with QR codes for public donations all the time. How does this work?

This week the SEC once again delayed their decision on the Bitwise Bitcoin ETF but made no announcement on the also-pending VanEck proposal. Hmmm, It All Sounds A Bit Tenuous It hinges on if your mom used her own bitcoin wallet address or the one provided by the scammer. I'm not sure how Bitcoin of America specifically works.
